Dimitris Regginos 1D won the Cyprus Go Championship 2012, held on December 1-2 in Nicosia. Regginos wins 4 out of his 5 matches.
Runner up was Argyris Fellas 1k and Phedias Christodoulides 3k took third place.
In the tournament eleven players participated, including 3 new players.
The Cyprus Go Championship will take place on the weekend 1-2 December 2012. This is an open 5-round McMahon tournament, and it will take place at the clubhouse of ESOBGA, the English School Old Boys and Girls Association.
There will be 3 rounds on Saturday and 2 rounds on Sunday. Round 1 will start not later than 11 am on Saturday, and more information about the times will be sent out soon.
All players must be registered and be physically at the venue by 10:30 am on Saturday.
Phedias Christodoulides scored 2 victories and secured 62nd place for Cyprus at the 7th KPMC in Korea. Tournament details at http://ranka.interfed.org and hopefully at some point at http://www.kpmc.or.kr.

Dimitris Regginos 1D won the Friendship Go Tournament 2012, held March 17-18 in Nicosia.
The Tournament was part of SPE strovolou Friendship Tournament.
Though just nine players participated, the tournament included some tough and interesting games. Runner up was Argyris Fellas 1k and Phedias Christodoulides 3k took third place. In the under-18 category, first place went to Lilia Regginou 12k, second place to Christoforos Kassianides 13k and third place to Markos Merkouris 13k.
Friendship Go Tournament will take place next weekend, 17-18 March, as part of the SPE Strovolou Frieandship.
The event will take place at Parnasos Strovolou Building. It will consist of 6 rounds as follows

Time: Basic time of 30 minutes and 3 boyomi of 30 seconds
Every go player is eligible to play.
Cyprus Go Association and Otakucy members had a meeting on 4th of January 2012 with Japanese Children who visited Cyprus from the areas affected from the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
At first the children were presented with photos from Otakucy events (cosplaying etc) and they saw Japan through the eyes of shounen and shoujo!
Then a small presentation of Go was given to them by Argyris Fellas and the children had a chance to play go with the members of the CGA and among themselves. This was an enjoyable event for everyone.
The Cyprus Go Championship was held at the ESOBGA clubhouse on 26-27 November 2011.
Dimitris Regginos won over Argyris Fellas in the final, to become this year's Champion.
Nicholas Roussos came third.

Nicholas Roussos represented Cyprus in the 6th KPMC that was held in Pohang, in Korea. Nicholas won games against India, Ecuador and Lithuania, and lost from Chile, Turkey, and Argentina. Cyprus secured the 46th place from 70 participants.
